Shit does happens.

haha. a friend working in a one of the top mobile subscriber company in Sg sent me this :

Last month, at one of our Customer Service Centres, a Customer Service Officer was attending to a customer's complaint regarding his mobile phone. The customer, upset over the difficulties he had faced with the phone, shouted and hurled vulgarities at the CSO. The CSO was trying to explain and demonstrated to the customer that the difficulties were not network-related and as such, should be referred to the phone manufacturer. The irate customer suddenly threw his phone at point blank at the CSO, and the phone hit him on the skull causing a deep wound at the head which bled profusely. The phone ricocheted with such force that it flew across two counters, to hit another CSO on the head, and the face of the customer she was attending to.
The customer gave no concern to the injuries he caused and continued shouting and hurling vulgarities. The Duty Supervisor quickly called for an ambulance and notified the police of the incident. The customer was retained until the police arrived. The injured CSO was sent to the hospital for medical treatment.

The entire incident was captured on the CCTV recording at the Customer Service Centre.
After investigation, our Legal Department was immediately called to institute legal action against the customer. The Company also terminated all our services to the customer. The customer was informed that he would be barred from all XXX** services until further notice. We are seeking civil action against the customer for damages. Separately, the police have been urged to prosecute the customer for voluntarily causing hurt and intentional harassment.
The Company does not tolerate threats and abuses by customers against our employees. We take a very serious stand in these circumstances especially when they become personal. We would like to emphasise that the Company is committed to protecting our employees' interests and their safety at work. Customers have no right to vent their personal frustrations with violence at our employees. In particular, service personnel who have to deal with complaints every day should not have to work in fear of being assaulted by customers.
As such, if you should encounter any threat or abuse from customers, which may range from abusive language to physical assault, please escalate them immediately to your supervisors and your HR representatives.

We will not hesitate to take the appropriate legal measures against customers who threaten or compromise the safety of our employees, and will refer relevant cases to the police for the appropriate judicial course of action.

**not naming the company's name.

Guess what people?? It's a Public Holiday tomorrow which screams me-me day! YAY. I need a break.

And, I came up with a To-Do list :
  • start wrapping up Xmas gifts
  • go jogging and maybe do some stretching exercises
  • read up on creative writing
  • cook steam beancurd
  • couch "tomato" marathon.
  • exfoliate my body and slap on a mask on my dehydrated skin
  • self-manicure

Yea. That's about it. But I kinda have a feeling I'll be heeding down crowded town tomorrow for some last minute meet-ups. Oh well.

Enjoy the short holiday! =))
